As part of the celebration of its 5
th year anniversary, MPower, together with its Partners, donated their 8
th Kinder Classroom to Dela Paz Main Elementary School, Biñan, Laguna. The new one-storey Kinder classroom, inaugurated on June 20, 2018, was made possible in partnership with and through the goodwill of the following MPower Partners - AGC Flat Glass Philippines, Inc. (jalousies), Ashlar Industrial Corporation (cash), Atlanta Industries Corporation (pipes), Cofta Mouldings Inc. (kiddie tables and chairs), Davies Paints (paint), Eagle Cement Corporation (cement), EMD Technologies Philippines Inc. (cash), Eurotiles Industrial Corp. (tiles), Pioneer Highlands South Condominium Corp. (cash), ROHM Electronics Phils. Inc. (multimedia equipment), Saffron Philippines Inc. (LED lights), Styrotech Corporation (notebooks), Swedish Match Phils. Inc. (cash) and Universal Steel Smelting Company Inc. (steel bars).
Dela Paz Elementary School has an estimated 2,500 students, 397 of which are Kinder pupils. The school used to conduct 16 Kinder classes in a day housed in 7 rooms (two of which are makeshift rooms). The new classroom, built observing the set classroom standards of the Department of Education, will benefit 100 students by providing a more conducive learning environment replete with books, toys, and multimedia equipment.
Mr. Hereberto Jose D. Miranda, CESO VI - Schools Division Superintendent, Division of Biñan Laguna, Romulo H. Reyes - Biñan City Administrator, Roberto R. Almazora - Senior Vice President and Head of MPower, and other partner representatives led the ribbon cutting to signify the turning over of the classroom to the school. Ms. Susan Pasta, Master Teacher 2 of Dela Paz Main Elementary School, officially opened the program. Mr. Almazora thanked all of the stakeholders who participated in the project as they each came up on stage and were recognized in the ceremonial turnover. The program concluded with a string of thank you messages from the school, local government, and community; led by School Principal Myrna Palma.
After five years of providing a brighter future for pupils and students alike, MPower and its partners remain steadfast in their commitment to uphold quality education and empower its fellow Filipinos. To date, over 1,200 pupils have already benefitted from the MPower Kinder Classrooms Project.
