MPower’s annual Executive Forum series returns for its 9
th run, gathering 200 business leaders from the country’s top corporations at the Marco Polo Hotel in Pasig City last November 20, 2023. Entitled “Powering Forward: The 2024 Economic Outlook and Leadership Strategies in the New Era”, the forum aims to bridge the gap between theory and application by empowering participants with strategies on how to navigate the dynamic economic and business landscape in 2024.
“It is a huge joy to see our partners again in our first major face-to-face event since the pandemic. Their continued support fueled our commitment to deliver exceptional service and execute value-adding customer programs.” First Vice President & MPower Head, Redel Domingo mentioned in his opening remarks. The forum fostered valuable knowledge exchange among the participants together with the highly esteemed duo of panelists, renowned economist Dr. Bernardo Villegas and business speaker Francis Kong, while also providing an avenue for networking and camaraderie.
The first session by Dr. Villegas revolved around growth opportunities for the Philippines, highlighting the national interest in developing nuclear energy to bring down power costs and help stimulate economic growth. He also mentioned how the Philippines remains to be one of the fastest growing economies in Southeast Asia, with a projected GDP growth rate of 6% by the end of year.
Francis Kong, who’s equally anticipated by the participants for his well-known expertise on leadership, focused his talk on building business resiliency and agility. He emphasized that these are highly essential skills for organizations who want to succeed in a dynamic and rapidly changing business environment. “Embrace the future as new beginnings offering new opportunities,” Francis Kong said as he highlights the importance to have the willingness to change course when necessary and to cultivate a mindset of continuous improvement within the workforce.
The event was wrapped up with a lively Q&A session with both Dr. Villegas and Francis Kong, moderated by Danie Laurel, multi-awarded news anchor and TV presenter.
