For the past three years, MPower and its partners have found a community in each other; collectively committed to give back and protect the environment through the RES’ tree planting program, #CommuniTrees. Last December 9, 2017, MPower, together with 126 volunteers from 14 partner companies planted 1,090 native trees at Carmelray Industrial Park 1, Canlubang, Calamba Laguna.
MPower SAVP and Retail Sales Head Emmanuel V. de Ramos officially opened the program and conducted the ceremonial planting together with Carmelray President Jose F. Santos, Jr. and Carmelray Estate Director Ver Lorenzo.
Management members of different top companies in the country also led their respective constituents in the planting activity; including EHS Lens President Alberto De Los Reyes, and GM, Legal and Business Admin of JX Nippon Mining and Metals Philippines, Inc. Atty. Delia Uy.
Despite the slight downpour, everyone was still game to get their hands dirty and post selfies and group photos. MPower gave special prizes to the participants who posted the best photo and caption using #2017CommuniTrees in their social media accounts.

In the end, Chel Villafuerte of Terumo bagged the 1st prize for her and her husband’s sweet photo and caption, as the latter opted to celebrate his birthday doing volunteer work through CommuniTrees.
MPower thanks Carmelray management for its support and providing this year’s venue as well as its partners who have always been very supportive of its programs.
Since the pilot of this program last 2014, collectively, MPower and partners have planted close to 3,000 seedlings to help conserve the environment.
