To formally welcome new customers to the MPower family and orient them on their chosen Retail Electricity Supplier’s (RES) operations, MPower held a forum entitled, “Updates in the Electric Power Industry” at Meralco Center, Pasig City on April 5, 2016. The forum aimed to inform customers of what to expect in the coming months after switching, to make their transition from captive to contestable market as smooth as possible.
For the introduction, MPower briefly discussed the history of Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM) and the power supply-demand outlook for 2016. The second half of the forum focused on the commercial operations of MPower, as billing engineers discussed the components of the MPower bill and explained its differences from the Meralco DU bill. Lastly, MPower’s payments officer discussed the bill delivery schedule and customers’ options for payment.
A total of 31 participants coming from 19 companies attended the forum.
