MPower held a forum entitled, “Next Steps for Contestable Customers” at Pasig Room, Lighthouse, Meralco Center, Pasig City on March 29, 2016. The forum aims to inform contestable customers of their options given ERC’s latest Revised Rules on Contestability, whereby all Phase 1 customers with at least 1 MW power supply requirement already need to secure their Retail Supply Contract by June 26, 2016.
The forum started with a brief discussion on the history of the Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM) and a backgrounder on MPower as a Local Retail Electricity Supplier. One of MPower’s energy management engineers also discussed the Luzon power supply-demand outlook for 2016. The forum’s main highlight was the discussion on the options of contestable customers with regard to retail electricity supply contracting.
