MPower Hosts Field Trip for 100 Students at Manila Ocean Park
November 26, 2016
Last year, MPower partnered with one of its customers, China Oceanis Philippines, Inc. or more popularly known as Manila Ocean Park, and held a field trip for 40 children from Sampaloc Elementary School in Parañaque. This year, the bar was raised a notch higher – on November 26, the field trip benefited 100 elementary students from Sto. Niño Elementary School, Plaridel, Bulacan.

Students enjoyed 11 of Manila Ocean Park’s top attractions which include the Oceanarium, Fish Spa, and Sea Lion Show, to name a few.  The beneficiaries were also the first few visitors to witness the Park’s two newest attractions, namely World of Creepy Crawlies (which houses a number of species of insects, lizards, spiders and frogs) and Barnyard & Birdhouse, where visitors experience a close encounter and interact with smaller animals such as rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, chickens, rodents, and feed lovebirds. Students also enjoyed a buffet lunch and afternoon snacks to keep them energized all throughout the day. To cap the whole experience, each student took home a Manila Ocean Park tumbler as souvenir.

This Corporate Social Responsibility project, undertaken with MPower Partner Manila Ocean Park, is being extended by MPower to public elementary school students as its way of giving back to the community. MPower believes that by bringing the students to such kind of place will help bridge the gap between formal education and hands-on learning. MPower and its partners remain steadfast in its commitment to continuously promote education and environment conservation.
