In 2015, MPower, together with nine of its partners, joined hands to build the first MPower Kinder Classroom in Plaridel, Bulacan in support of the Department of Education’s K to 12 program. Construction companies and MPower partners AGC Flat Glass Phil. Inc., COFTA Mouldings Inc., Davies Paints Phil. Inc., Eagle Cement Corp., Eurotiles Industrial Corp., James Hardie Phil. Inc., Moldex Products Inc., ROHM Electronics Phil. Inc., and Universal Steel Smelting Company Inc., contributed construction materials from their own production to help support this project.
The beneficiary, Lagundi Elementary School, highlighted the construction of the kinder classroom as one of its exceptional accomplishments in the past school year. This paved the way for Ms. Lorena Villalon, Principal of Lagundi Elementary School, to win the prestigious Bulacan Outstanding Administrators, Teachers, and Supervisors (BOATS) award under the elementary school head teacher category. Given on April 5, 2016 at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center, the award bestows honor to exceptional administrators, teachers, and supervisors who exemplify strong commitment in youth development through remarkable work dedication and effective educational leadership.
This is the 5
th award Lagundi Elementary School received since its inauguration in July 13, 2015, with the other four, being:
- Brigada Eskwela Champion (Exceptional Category - Region 3), awarded on September 29 at DepEd Region 3 Office, San Fernando, Pampanga
- Brigada Eskwela Champion (Exceptional Category – Nationals), awarded on November 25 at Tanghalang Pasigueño, Pasig
- Hall of Famer for National Literacy Program, awarded by the DepEd on October 2 at Ecotech Center, Lahug, Cebu
- Gawad Dangal ng Plaridel, awarded by the Plaridel Municipal Government on December 18 at Don Ceasario San Diego Gym, Poblacion, Plaridel, Bulacan
Lagundi Elementary School, represented by Ms. Villalon, continues to extend gratitude to MPower and its partners for empowering its pupils through the MPower Kinder Classroom. Soon to rise in 2016 is a bigger and better MPower Kinder Classroom at Malabon Elementary School. “We look forward to get the same support from our partners as we continuously make learning more conducive for many Filipino children,” says Roberto R.
